Decrease of industrial production and exports from RS

FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, September 17 (FENA) - Business operations in Republika Srpska (RS) are characterized by difficult working conditions and reduced economic activity in this year, as they have been in the real sector since late 2018, and throughout all months and quarters of the current year negative trends have been recorded.

RS Chamber of Commerce stated that industrial production in the RS decreased by 13.7 percent in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period last year.

On the other hand, there is an evident increase in average net salary, which amounted to KM 899 in the period January-July 2019, and increased by six percent compared to the average net salary in the same period last year.

This fact further complicates the business operations of the economy, since we are faced with hiring incompetent and insufficiently educated staff due to the reduced economic activity and labor outflow, which requires additional costs of their training and employment of such profiles, the RS Chamber of Commerce stated.
