MOSTAR, September 26 (FENA) - The Old Bridge in Mostar will be illuminated tonight at 8 pm with the colors of the French flag to commemorate the death of Jacques Chirac, the former president of that country, announced the Mostar Peace Center.
Director and founder of the Center and former Mayor of Mostar, Safet Oručević, recalled that France was one of the first and largest donors in the process of rebuilding the Old Bridge, which today is considered an international symbol of peace and reconciliation in the world.
Also, in 1998, as then French President, Jacques Chirac became a member of the Old Bridge Restoration Foundation, and in 2016 he was awarded the Mostar Peace Connection International Award.
