Manjača - Visitors Day after SEL-1 assessment

BANJA LUKA, September 26 (FENA) - A visitor day was organized today at Combat Training Center in Manjača as part of the assessment of the SEL-1 Light Infantry Battalion Group (INF-L-BNG).

This ended multi-day activity planned in advance by the Annual Training Plan at the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of BiH for 2019.

Members of the AFBiH group presented offensive operations to the attendees, with engagement of elements of service and combat support. INF-L-BNG is by far the largest declared unit of the AFBiH for participation in peace support operations, as form of BiH cooperation under the Partnership for Peace program.

The event was attended by BiH Minister of Defense Marina Pendeš, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of BiH AF for operations Major General Ivica Jerkić, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of BiH AF Major General Gojko Knežević, Commander of the AFBiH Operational Command Major General Radovan Ilić, Commander for the support of the AFBiH, Brigadier General Marko Stojčić, Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier Slaven Blavicki, Generals of the AFBiH, representatives of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Sarajevo, representatives of the EUFOR General Command, commanders of the AFBiH Brigades, military and diplomatic representatives accredited in BiH, representatives of civilian authorities and media.

SEL-1 INF-L-BNG assessment activities began on September 23 and end on Friday September 27.

The final assessment of the degree of interoperability of the unit will be announced within 30 days after the detailed analysis. SEL-1 evaluation is conducted in accordance with the Operational Capabilities Concept Evaluation and Feedback Program (OCC E&F), which is a form of cooperation between BiH and NATO within the Partnership for Peace program.

SEL-1 INF-L-BNG First-Level Assessment is the first of four levels that a unit must pass in order to receive certification, certifying that it is fully qualified, interoperable and ready to engage in peace support operations not only NATO but also European Union and the United Nations, the PR Office of BiH Ministry of Defense announced.
