Vesković sentenced to eight years of imprisonment for cash-in-transit robbery

SARAJEVO, October 4 (FENA) - Having held a hearing to consider the guilty plea agreement and the sentencing hearing, on 1 October 2019 the Court of BiH delivered the judgment in the case of Milosav Vesković, finding the accused guilty of the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250(2) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Court sentenced the accused Milosav Vesković to 8 (eight) years of imprisonment.

The time the accused spent in pre-trial custody running from 18 May 2018 onwards shall be credited towards his sentence of imprisonment.

Pursuant to Article 198(2) of the BiH Criminal Procedure Code, the accused Milosav Vesković is under the obligation to jointly and severally with the convicted persons Anes Kurbegović and Mladen Mićić pay to the injured party Pavlović Internacional banka the amount of 1,789,539.67 KM as compensation for the damage caused by the commission of the criminal offense, plus the default interest as at 2 June 2016.

The accused Milosav Vesković is guilty that he became a member of mutually linked and organized groups of people who prepared and committed acts that in the mutual connection of acts and consequences satisfy the elements of criminal offenses codified in the Criminal Code of BiH, Criminal Code of the BiH Federation and the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska. By such acts members of the group make joint or individual unlawful benefit in terms of money, material goods or other forms of benefit, in which the roles of individual members of the group are mutually connected, mutually divided and mutually separated in relation to the position of each member of the group, which, according to the structure of the group members and the structure and consequences of the criminal offenses they commit, cross the Entity borders and international borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In August 2005, with the aim of committing the criminal offense of Aggravated Roberry against the Pavlović internacional banka, R.S. organized a group for organized crime, which was joined by Milosav Vesković. Group members have prepared the necessary gear and equipment, including fire arms, and gathered intelligence on the method and time when money would be transported along the Han-Pijesak-Sokolac route. On 30 August 2005 they set up an ambush, and after stopping the pmv made Audi A4, operated by two employees of the Pavlović internacional banka from Bijeljina, using the threat of fire arms and physical force they overpowered the bank employees and tied their hands, after which, together with their vehicle they took them to a previously agreed location in the woods, where they took money in the amount of 1,789,539.67 KM. 

In November 2005, with the aim of committing the criminal offense of Aggravated Roberry to the detriment of Nova banka A.D. Bijeljina, branch office in East Sarajevo, E.D. organized a group that was joined by Milosav Vesković. On 9 November 2005, after E.D. got a tip from a person known to him that the transport of cash was leaving Sarajevo for the Nova Banka East Sarajevo, they set out with the intent to intercept the vehicle and steal the money in the total amount of 2,215,500.00 KM. When the armored vehicle VW Kombi, property of Security-Centurion, stopped in front of the bank and opened the rear door, they attempted to take the money and use fire arms against the security personnel, who resisted their attack, after which the group members fled the scene, stated the BiH Court.
