SARAJEVO, October 4 (FENA) - A team from the FBiH Institute for Development Programming organized a workshop today to analyze the situation in the area of corruption, good governance and public services in FBiH regarding the development of the Federation of BiH Development Strategy 2021-2027.
According to Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index 2018, BiH is 89th in the list of 180 countries. This position has been almost constant over the last few years and, together with Macedonia, BiH is the worst positioned in the region.
An analysis of the Global Corruption Barometer has shown that BiH citizens find their government and its anti-corruption efforts ineffective. Legislative power, the judiciary and political parties are mentioned as the most corrupt segment of society.
Public sector is inefficient and dysfunctional. Governance quality surveys, including World Bank management indicators, indicate the unsatisfactory situation in all six governance dimensions that the survey covers, in some dimensions such as responsibility trends are negative compared to previous years.
The implemetation of all workshops related to the situation analysis is supported by the Integrated Local Development Project in BiH, a joint project of the UNDP and the Government of Switzerland, the FBiH Institute for Development Programming announced.
