NEUM, October 9 (FENA) - Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and Head of the Task Force on Combating Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration Gordana Tadić assessed that the use of new investigative techniques can effectively combat crimes of human trafficking on the Internet.
"Traffickers use different methods to recruit and exploit victims. Adequate response to this type of crime requires the use of the latest investigative techniques, digital forensic tools and electronic evidence," Tadić said at Annual Prosecutorial Expert Briefing on Wednesday in Neum.
Today's panel was held with the support of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the International Organization for Migration and the International Forum of Solidarity Emmaus, as part of their efforts to train competent actors to ensure the effective processing of trafficking cases.
"In the digitalized world, the potential for recruiting and exploiting victims of trafficking is increasing. Human traffickers are increasingly using modern technology to avoid being discovered. Therefore, it is crucial that everyone involved in this field has knowledge of the elements and methods of human trafficking through modern technology," said Boris Topić, Anti-Trafficking Officer at the OSCE Mission to BiH.
