SIPA arrests two of its own employees for abuse of office and corruption

SARAJEVO, November 13 (FENA) - Two inspectors of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) have been arrested today for abuse of office and on corruption charges, on a warrant issued by the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

Persons under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH are active employees of the State Investigation and Protection Agency-SIPA, the prosecution said.

They are suspected of having obtained, within the scope of their duties and competencies, information from the conduct of special investigations and, by unauthorized and abusing their official position, provided information to persons covered by the investigation into forgery and illegal issuing of diplomas in an operation codenamed "Pero" (Pen), which the prosecution office of the Una-Sana Canton is handling.

The suspects will be handed over to the acting prosecutor, who will interview them and decide on further activities in the case.
