TIRANA, November 26 (FENA) - The Federal News Agency (FENA) participated in the 28th Assembly of the Association of Balkan News Agencies of Southeast Europe (ABNA-SE), held in Tirana last weekend.
By the decision of the General Assembly, the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA), that is, General Director of the agency, Armela Krasniqi, has assumed the presidency of the Association of the ABNA-SE. The next General Assembly is scheduled to be held in Kosovo in the fall of 2020.
Discussions between ABNA-SE members focused on ways to establish an e-book platform to which all ABNA members would contribute with reports and documentaries related to tourism, cultural heritage, historic and natural monuments, tourist attractions and destinations, culinary and other aspects that promote tourism potential of countries in the region.
Member agencies have agreed to use the platform as a guide for all tourists visiting the region. The platform will feature major attractions and destinations that foreign tourists can visit in each of the Balkan countries.
The General Assembly of ABNA-SE was held after the conference on "Media and Tourism, Ideas and Solutions", which aimed to open new communication channels in order to promote tourism in the Balkan countries.
ABNA-SE was established in 1995 with the aim of developing greater cooperation among news agencies in the region, as well as establishing climate of peace, friendship, security and cooperation in the Balkans. Apart from FENA, ABNA-SE members are SRNA (BiH), AGERPRES (Romania), ANA-MPA (Greece), ANADOLU (Turkey), ATA (Albania), BTA (Bulgaria), CNA (Cyprus), HINA (Croatia), MIA (North Macedonia), KosovaPress (Kosovo) and TANJUG (Serbia).
