SARAJEVO, December 10 (FENA) - The Steering Board of the association of BH Journalists urges the Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton (MoI USC), as well as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to enable safe and free media coverage of relocation of migrants from the Vučjak camp and other locations in the Una-Sana Canton, stated the BH Journalists Association.
Members of the Steering Board of the association of BH Journalists are fully aware that this is a high security risk event and with a large number of different actors and with the necessary adherence to police procedures and protection of integrity of the migrants. On the other hand, this is also an event of public importance for all residents of the USC and other parts of BiH, which is why it is important to provide the public and the media with accurate, objective and balanced information from the competent local authorities of the USC, the police and the IOM, as well as insight into the overall flow of migrant relocation.
In this context, the BH Journalists' Steering Board requests that police and international organizations organize press conference near the Vučjak camp due to numerous media teams in the USC area, where they will share information with journalists, as well as recordings and photographs of migrant relocation, in order to give the public access to information regarding this event. If the MoI and IOM do not have adequate equipment for recording or photographing, they are obliged to allow the media to record from a specially secured location, it is said in a statement.
