Final event of the Campaign against Gender-Based Violence held in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, December 10 (FENA) - On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the final event of the global campaign "16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence" was held today at the Children's Home in Sarajevo, conducted by the UN Women Office in BiH in cooperation with partners.

Swedish Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Johanna Strömquist, Program Manager for Human Rights in the EU Delegation to BiH Ajša Adrović-Bešlagić, Joško Mandić from the BiH Gender Equality Agency and UN Women Representative in BiH David Saunders spoke today on the importance of protection of human rights and the prevention of violence against women in BiH in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After the panel, lectures were delivered by program leader at the XY Association Feđa Mehmedović and writer Martina Mlinarević.

Mehmedović presented his own experiences of working with men and boys in questioning harmful gender stereotypes, while Mlinarević spoke on the topic of violence and stereotyping in the public and especially in the online settings.
