WB Investment Framework Steering Board approves 98.9m euros grant for BiH

SARAJEVO, December 17 (FENA) - The Western Balkans Investment Framework Steering Board today in London has decided to approve grants of EUR 98.9 million for BiH, as part of the projects from the Western Balkans Summit in Poznan, along with two additional environmental projects.

In this investment package, BiH has received by far the largest amount of EU grants for infrastructure projects in the Western Balkans region.

The entire package, worth a total of EUR 189 million, which has been approved today, relates to projects under the Connectivity Agenda, the areas of energy and transport, as well as environmental projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia.

“The first project from the Connectivity Agenda involves the construction of a section of the Vukosavlje-Doboj motorway, a sub-section, the Rudanka (Kostajnica) loop - the Putnikovo brdo 2 tunnel of approximately EUR 39 million, while the second project involves the Zenica north-Žepče south section pertaining to the sub-section 1, Poprikuše – Nemila in the amount of over 42 million euros.

The latest project concerns the construction of a sub-section of the Putnikovo brdo 2 tunnel up to the Medakovo loop worth approximately EUR 16 million.

The total value of the three projects is over EUR 430 million, stated the Office of the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers.
