Lovrić threatens with protest if Božović is appointed human rights minister

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, December 18 (FENA) - Following the announcement that DNS Vice President Nenad Nešić nominated Mladen Božović as Minister for Human Rights and Refugees instead of Draško Aćimović, Irina Lovrić in her statement announced that she would hold a protest at the Square of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, in front of the buildings of the BiH institutions if there were to happen.

She will be joined in protest by her friends, including those who supported her decades-long fight for human rights and against corruption.

Irina Lovrić is the first woman to be granted protection as a whistleblower, and who, after years of fighting before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, received a verdict on mobbing against her then supervisor, the director of the Refugee Return Fund, Mladen Božović.

"If you name Mladen Božović (firstly member of SNSD and then DNS) as the Minister of Refugees and Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who repeatedly acted illegally while leading the Return Fund of Bosnia and Herzegovina and who has grossly violated my human rights, I am going to start a protest at the Square of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Lovrić said.

She reminded the public that Bozović had allegedly abused her for years, which, she said, should not be forgotten.

"He even beat me, while I was holding my position in the Return Fund of Bosnia and Herzegovina, only because I reported him for corruption. The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton filed an indictment at the end of 2017, which the Sarajevo Municipal Court accepted. They are trying to cover up the case both in the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the Court of BiH," Lovrić warned.

She is aware of the fact that Božović harbors a great deal of information about the illegal and non-transparent spending of huge sums of money intended for the return of refugees and displaced persons in BiH, and that he knows best which powerful politicians have benefited from these funds.
