BiH CoM approves new EUR 140 million contract with the EIB for Corridor Vc

SARAJEVO, December 30 (FENA) - The BiH Council of Ministers today adopted, in its first session since the new Council of Ministers convening, a decision to conclude a contract worth 140 million euros with the European Investment Bank to finance the construction of the motorway on the Corridor Vc, Poprikuše- Nemila and Tarčin – Ivan sections.

Also, the Decision on the need to open the sessions of the Council of Ministers for the public was adopted.

Chairman Tegeltija told reporters after the session that there were currently no technical or procedural options for the sessions to be open to the public, but that it was the responsibility of the Secretariat-General to offer a technical solution and best practices from the region and Europe within a maximum of 60 days.

“Also today, Vjekoslav Bevanda was appointed Governor of BiH at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Bisera Turković was appointed Governor of BiH at the World Bank, and I was appointed as Governor of BiH at the International Monetary Fund,” Tegeltija said.

The Council of Ministers also appointed committees on foreign policy and economy.

Sifet Podžić was appointed chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee and Josip Grubeša as his deputy, while the committee members are ministers whose departments are related to the area.

Tegeltija said that Vjekoslav Bevanda was appointed chairman of the Committee on Economy, and Staša Kšsarac as his deputy, and that the ministers from the economy sector will be board members.

“In addition, we adopted the Decision on Interim Financing of the Institutions of BiH for the next three months of 2020 in the amount of 241.5 million KM until the budget for 2020 is approved, and the Decision on the approval of the multi-annual project 'Construction of the Bratunac - Ljubovija Border Crossing Point' in the amount of 14,5 million KM - Tegeltija explained.

He stressed that the item of the agenda "Joint socio-economic reforms for the period 2019 - 2022" was removed from the agenda because no agreement was reached on it in the course of the preparation for the session.
