BANJA LUKA, January 9 (FENA) - Republika Srpska (RS) President Željka Cvijanović presented honors to Defense Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin.

Vulin was awarded with the RS flag with a gold wreath for his "work in international cooperation and consolidation of peace, personal results and achievements, as well as for contributing to the development of overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and RS".

Although BiH Constitutional Court has repealed as an unconstitutional the article of the law on January 9 as the "RS Day", Serb officials of this BiH entity organized the award ceremony and a series of events in Banja Luka today, which will be attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and Secretary General of the President of Serbia Nikola Selaković.

At noon, a parade will be held at the main square in Banja Luka with more than 2,400 participants, primarily members of the police, postmen, firefighters, civil protection, non-governmental organizations and other members of the civil sector.

The Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej presides the religious part of the manifestation and security measures have been intensified on the streets of Banja Luka today.

BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović said yesterday that marking January 9 as the "RS Day" is an unconstitutional act and a criminal act, which is why BiH institutions should react.

He emphasized that those who commit the criminal offense of contempt of the Constitutional Court should be prosecuted.

Vice President of RS Ramiz Salkić stated that the proclamation of the Republic of the Serb people of Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 9, 1992, was the moment when the project of partition of BiH, the separation of citizens in this country and the creation of what is now called the Republika Srpska entity in fact began.
