SREBRENICA, January 9 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović today paid a visit to Bratunac and Srebrenica to pay tribute to the victims of genocide at the Veljaci Memorial Center and the Potočari Memorial Center.

On this occasion, Džaferović stressed that on January 9, 1992, the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina had been attacked and that a group of MPs in the then Assembly of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a declaration against the BiH Constitution and international law, marked a part of the territory of BiH and made it clear that those who do not follow their policies were not welcome in this part of BiH.

Džaferović said that he primarily came to Srebrenica and Bratunac today to pay tribute to the innocent victims of the genocide, which began on that January 9.

“January 9 is not the day of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of Republika Srpska. the BiH Constitutional Court has clearly stated that it is unconstitutional and that it cannot be so. The fact is that it is being celebrated today by the structures of the entity of Republika Srpska, but this is unconstitutional and unlawful behavior. This is a criminal offense and should be dealt with by the institutions of the international community and the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Džaferović said.

A panel on "The future of Srebrenica" will also take place today at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Srebrenica.

“We will talk about the future electoral process for the upcoming local elections, with the aim of finding a greater degree of unity so that finally Srebrenica can have a mayor that respects the victims of genocide and who does not deny genocide and who respects the decisions of international courts and courts in BiH.

In addition, we will talk about the position of the returnees in RS in order to make their lives as normal as possible,” Džaferović said.
