SARAJEVO, January 13 (FENA) – The Collegium of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) will seriously consider confirming the appointment of Mladjen Božović as Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina ahead of the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly on January 16, Adil Osmanović confirmed for FENA today, referring to the candidate proposed by the Democratic People's Alliance (DNS) and noted that the SDA caucus would behave in accordance with the recommendations of the Party Collegium, therefore he could not say their position at this moment.

Osmanović said that the most controversial for the SDA is the fact that the coalition partners' deal of the SDA and the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) has not been respected, recalling that it was agreed that as a non-partisan candidate should come to this position since it is a sensitive position.

“This position should have been taken by a person without any controversies, which is a more disputed for the SDA, since Božović is charged with first-instance verdict on mobbing, as well as a large number of inscriptions in which he is seriously accused of certain corrupt activities,” Osmanović explained.

Osmanović believes that the appointment of the Council of Ministers of BiH should have been delayed until all the candidates passed the necessary verification, adding that other ministers in the Council of Ministers had the support of coalition parties, which should also be secured for Božović.

“I do not see why it would be a problem if a political party considers that the proposed candidate is not in accordance with the agreement and principles that we expect the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees to fulfill,” concluded Osmanovic.

The Committee of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly for the preparation of the appointment the BiH Council of Ministers did not make a recommendation for endorsing Mladjen Božović as Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, but that recommendation is not binding for the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.
