SDA and HDZ intensify talks on finding solution for Mostar elections

SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - SDA and HDZ delegations, led by Presidents Bakir Izetbegović and Dragan Čović, held a meeting today in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The topics of discussion were elections in Mostar, government formation in the Federation of BiH, changes of the structure of the FBiH Government, and implementation of decisions and judgments of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the International Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg concerning changes in electoral legislation.

It was agreed to continue intensive work on finding solutions for holding local elections this year in Mostar.

There is also agreement on change in the structure of the FBiH Government, which entails the establishment of new and merging of existing ministries in order to improve the functionality of the executive power.

The two parties will continue to agree on principles and positions on amendments to the BiH Election Law, taking into account decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court and judgments of the International Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, the SDA stated.
