BiH MoFA recommends delaying travel to China due to coronavirus spread

SARAJEVO, January 24 (FENA) - BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a recommendation to BiH citizens to further delay travel to the People's Republic of China due to the spread of coronavirus, Head of Public Relations Office of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, minister-advisor Nebojša Regoje, confirmed for FENA.

He explained that the Ministry has issued warning for BiH citizens who are planning a trip to China, and this was done taking into account information from the World Health Organization (WHO), Chinese authorities and information from institutions in BiH.  

“The warning was issued within the framework of regular recommendations issued by the BiH MoFA when it comes to possible problematic situations in foreign countries,” explained Regoje.

He noted that BiH citizens who are currently in China, it is recommended to strictly adhere to the usual measures to reduce the risk of respiratory diseases, and to follow up with information from the Chinese health authorities and the WHO.

According to information available to the BiH Embassy in Beijing, Regoje says, there are currently no BiH nationals in the part of China that is under the special supervision of local health institutions.

Some 37 million people in Chinese cities were affected by travel bans on Friday, as Chinese authorities seek to stem the spread of a new virus that has infected at least 876 people across the country.
