SARAJEVO, February 6 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Staša Košarac today received Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH, Haldun Koç to discuss enhancing of bilateral cooperation and other current issues.
The interlocutors noted that a legal framework for free trade has been established between BiH and Turkey, and exchanged views on foreign trade between the two countries.
Special emphasis was placed on the export of white and red meat from BiH to Turkey, and the utilization of quotas awarded by Turkey.
The two officials also discussed the participation of business people from BiH at fairs in Turkey, tourism potentials and the increased interest of Turkish tourists to visit BiH, as well as the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway.
Minister Košarac and Ambassador Koç highlighted the importance of Turkish investments in BiH, with energy, tourism and the timber industry being top sectors for investment.
Ambassador Koç pointed out that Turkish investors are particularly interested in investing in hydropower plants, thermal power plants and the metal industry in BiH.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on regional cooperation, with a focus on the bilateral committee meeting of BiH and Turkey in March, and a mid-year meeting of the trilateral committee of BiH, Serbia and Turkey, stated the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.
