SARAJEVO, February 17 (FENA) - Defense Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić received today in an inaugural visit the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, Abdulaziz Alsharrah.
The topics of discussion were the priorities of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH in the coming period, as well as the possibilities of improving the overall friendly relations between the two countries.
Minister Podžić welcomed Ambassador Alsharrah at the beginning of the meeting and commended him for his continued support for the reform of the BiH defense system.
He stressed the importance of the support of the State of Kuwait in building a greater level of security in BiH through cooperation programs with UNDP and the OSCE in the process of dealing with surplus mines and explosives and improving storage facilities of the BiH Armed Forces.
Minister Podžić briefed the Ambassador on the current engagement of AF BiH members in peace support missions through EU, NATO and UN missions, and on the priorities of the MoD and AF BiH work in the coming period.
“BiH's integration into the EU is at the top of our priorities, as is cooperation and partnership with NATO,” Minister Podžić emphasized.
Ambassador Alsharrah expressed desire and readiness to further enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, the BiH Ministry of Defense said.
