SARAJEVO, February 27 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turković, received in a farewell visit the UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Sezin Sinanoglu and thanked her for her personal engagement and commitment to improving BiH-UN cooperation, during four and a half year term.
Turković noted that Coordinator Sinanoglu and the UN staff have contributed to the implementation of a significant number of programs and projects that the organization has successfully implemented in BiH.
Sinanoglu expressed her readiness for the UN to continue to support BiH, primarily in the timely implementation of the state-level plans and strategies.
Minister Turković stressed that she would personally advocate a stronger role of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a representative of state institutions, in cooperation with the United Nations.
The interlocutors assessed that there is good cooperation between the state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the UN mission in our country and that it should be further encouraged.
The two officials also talk about the announced arrival of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to the central commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, and the possibility of the Secretary-General meeting with officials of our country during his stay in BiH.
Minister Turković wished Resident Coordinator Sinagoglu a lot of success, both personally and in pursuing her diplomatic career, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
