SARAJEVO, March 5 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative, Ambassador Johann Sattler, said at the BiH 2020 Economic Forum in Sarajevo today that there is much work ahead of our country to secure a better future for the citizens.
He said that, according to the World Bank report, a child born in BiH will reach 62 percent of its productive potential, as opposed to highly developed countries in which this number is around 80 or 90 percent.
"That has to change, which will take time, resources and effort, but the sooner the process starts, the sooner it will be over," Sattler said.
He added that the need for change in BiH is becoming increasingly apparent due to the departure of young people from the country, which, combined with low birth rates, calls for alarm.
Sattler pointed out that human potential in BiH is hostage to the negative rhetoric that separates rather than unites people.
"This constant state of tension is what we need to pay the most attention to, and unfortunately, it is being created by many people in politics here," Sattler said.
