SARAJEVO, March 11 (FENA) - Members of the Board of Tourism and Hospitality Group of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Chamber of Commerce (FTC BiH) warn that the situation in tourism as a sector sensitive to global disruptions and the emergence of coronavirus could lead do a shutdown of all entities operating in the tourism sector and catering.

At a meeting earlier this week, members of the Board expressed hope that the situation would calm down and that things would improve as of April, when the tourist season actually begins.

The members of the Board of the Tourism and Hospitality Group have warned that everyone should be aware and do everything possible to minimize the negative effects on tourism in the event the coronavirus crisis continues.

Markets for tourism in BiH are known to be primarily those of China, South Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.

However, in recent days, the situation in BiH is such that a large number of tourists from these countries have canceled tier arrival. So far, only the arrival of tourists from the Middle East countries has not been canceled.

Hotel representatives also point out that planned international conferences are canceled due to the absence of a large number of participants or exhibitors, which will again have a bad impact on the tourism and hospitality business, stated the FTC BiH.
