Agreement on setup of coordination body of prosecutor offices signed today

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 13 (FENA) - Chief prosecutors of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, RS Prosecutor's Office, FBiH Prosecutor's Office and the Brčko District Prosecutor's Office, in the presence of representatives of the Prosecutorial Capacity Building Project implemented by the HJPC BiH, officially signed the Coordination Body Establishment Agreement at the end of a two-day meeting in Sarajevo.

The primary competence of this body is to deal with conflicts of jurisdiction between the prosecutor offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in situations where the law does not prescribe a way of resolving conflicts of jurisdiction and when all previous ways of resolving conflicts of jurisdiction that have not led to resolution have been used.

The prosecutorial community of Bosnia and Herzegovina has about 370 prosecutor offices working in prosecutorial institutions at all levels in BiH, which are expected to make a significant contribution to the rule of law and prosecution of all crimes committed in the country, and are coordinating bodies that liaise and accelerate communications and cooperation needed to cooperate more effectively in strengthening the rule of law, the BiH Prosecutor's Office said.
