SARAJEVO, March 19 (FENA) - Most airlines have reduced flights from and to Sarajevo as a prevention of the spread of coronavirus, while some have canceled flights for the next period. We are reporting an additional reduction in air travel because Austrian Airlines has suspended flights to Vienna as of today, Spokesperson for the Sarajevo International Airport, Sanja Bagarić, confirmed for FENA.
Therefore today instead of yesterday's five, four scheduled flights are planned - from Istanbul, Cologne, Belgrade and Zagreb, and return flights are planned for those destinations.
According to her, in the last three days, 1.201 passengers entered Sarajevo International Airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while 893 passengers left BiH.
“This represents only a third of passengers compared to the same period last year,” said Bagarić.
Considering that the situation with flights is constantly changing, Sarajevo International Airport advised passengers to contact the airline before, that is, embassies / consulates of the countries to which they are traveling.
