SARAJEVO, March 23 (FENA) - Director of the FBiH Inspection Directorate Anis Ajdinović stated today that an arrested FBiH sanitary inspector has been suspended from duty.
We remind that on March 21, police officers of the FBiH Police Directorate, taking measures and actions within their jurisdiction, arrested a sanitary inspector of the FBiH Administration for Inspection Affairs, initials M.R. (1962) at the Orašje border crossing, who is suspected of the criminal offense of Receiving Gifts and Other Forms of Benefits.
Namely, the said person is suspected that acting as a sanitary inspector, at the stated border crossing on March 17, for minor monetary gain, failed to carry out sanitary controls and to order administrative isolation measures to two citizens returning from the country affected by the coronavirus pandemic and allowing them to enter BiH.
"I was appalled by this dishonorable act of an individual who has harmed the reputation of the FBiH Inspection Directorate and our efforts to counteract the risk of spreading a coronavirus pandemic and contribute to protecting the health and life of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Such a heinous act of an individual in these difficult times when the FBiH Inspection Directorate, with already exhausted human resources, is giving gives the last ounces of power, surely must be severely sanctioned," said Ajdinović.
The arrested inspector was suspended immediately after his arrest and legal proceeding against is to be initiated.
