BANJA LUKA, March 24 (FENA) - Republika Srpska Minister of Health and Social Welfare Alen Šeranić announced tonight that a more offensive response to the coronavirus pandemics must be undertaken, which also entails the need for more large-scale testing.

He explained that there will be a separation of the patients negative for Covid-19 from those that are positive and that those with milder symptoms will be separated from those who are moderately or seriously ill.

Large-scale testing, he said, will be successful in determining those who test positive and all those who have been in contact with them.

- We expect to procure an additional 1,500 to 2,000 tests this week and a donation from UNDP, along with the 25,000 which we plan to purchase next week - said the entity's Minister of Health.

He expects more than 200 tests to be conducted on a daily basis.

He also said that all those who were in close contact with persons who have been tested positive will also be tested.
Šeranić said that they plan on procuring an additional 20 ventilators. There are currently 12 ventilators in RS, 11 at the University Clinical Center and one in Bijeljina.
