FENA and BH Telecom together in FENA.LIVE project

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 29 (FENA) - Faced with the crisis affecting every aspect of our society and given the crucial importance of truthful and timely information, the Federal News Agency (FENA) and BH Telecom have established partnership on the FENA.LIVE project.

It is a new service through which FENA will inform its customers, as well as the general public in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world about the most important events, by broadcasting live video signals. Although not solely related to the current crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the project is of full significance nowadays, when it is necessary to convey reliable and timely information to the public as soon as possible, with minimal involvement of news crews at an event.

BH Telecom will provide this project with the necessary support through its Enterprise Cloud service through which FENA's HD video signal will be made available to televisions in BiH and worldwide.

"Thanks to the FENA.LIVE project, multiple effects will be achieved. Our users will receive top-notch LIVE coverage of important events, and what is most significant at the moment is that in order to prevent the spread of infection, a minimal number of journalists and reporters will be present at the events. The speed of news release will be significantly increased, and our users and general public will be provided with quality and timely information. Of course, the development of the FENA.LIVE project with BH Telecom as our partner, that will provide us with all technical support, will continue after the crisis, which will hopefully happen soon,” said General Manager of the Federal News Agency (FENA), Elmir Huremović.

He added that, by launching partnerships at such a difficult time for BiH society and the state, FENA as the leading news agency in the country and BH Telecom, which is the largest telecommunications company in BiH, showed that public interest came first.

“Aware of the role and importance of the telecommunications system in this challenging period for individuals and companies, we have made a number of decisions and undertaken a number of activities that contribute to overcome the current circumstances in order for the telecommunications system and ICT solutions to contribute to continued operations of businesses, as well as to the educational process in a state of natural disaster and in extraordinary circumstances,” said Acting Director-General of the BH Telecom, Sedin Kahriman.

First of all, BH Telecom's systems are stable, with sufficient capacity for all the services it provides, including online teaching. In order to ensure business continuity and support to the economy, BH Telecom has offered business community the opportunity to use tools for organizing business activities from remote locations free of charge in order to facilitate their business activities and protect employees.

“In the current extraordinary circumstances, timely and quality informing of our citizens is very important and cooperation with the Federal News Agency on the FENA.LIVE project is another activity that, through joint cooperation, should contribute to the BiH community,” said Sedin Kahriman, Acting Director-General of BH Telecom.
