BIHAĆ/SARAJEVO, March 31 (FENA) - Mustafa Ružnić, Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton together with IOM and UNHCR representatives and Bihać Mayor Šuhret Fazlić today visited the Lipa site where a migrant reception camp will be set up over the next eight days.
As agreed at an extended meeting of the Task Force for Coordination and Control of the Migration Crisis in the area of the canton, the City of Bihać has set about preparing the Lipa site, for which the City Council has agreed, to set up a camp for migrants currently outside organized reception camps in Bihać, endangering both their own and public health.
"At the proposal of the Cantonal Civil Protection Staff of the Una-Sana Canton, the Government of the Canton issued a decision on the use of special remuneration fund for the implementation of preventive protection measures for providing conditions for migrants at the location of Lipa near Bihać, and the amount of 60,000 KM that will be allocated to the City of Bihać for the precautionary measures in preparation of the Lipa site for migrants.
The FBiH Civil Protection Directorate also assisted in the establishment of the camp, and with the support of the Minister of Security of BiH, Fahrudin Radončić, they agreed on the support of the IOM and the DRC in organizing the camp and receiving migrants while the danger of the spread of coronavirus is ongoing," said Prime Minister Ružnić.
During the visit to the Lipa site, plans were presented for the rapid establishment of basic infrastructure for the camp to be operational in eight days.
