SARAJEVO, April 15 (FENA) - Support for spring sowing is currently our most significant activity. A public call for municipalities and cities is underway, said today the Federation of BiH Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Šemsudin Dedić at a regular press conference in the FBiH Government.
Dedić emphasized that 20 days ago, measures were presented to support domestic agricultural production, which were mostly implemented or are underway.
"All those deadlines that we had prescribed by the ordinances have been postponed until the end of April and also we have enabled everyone who wants to register to do so," Dedić said.
He points out that 9.5 million KM has been earmarked for the support of spring sowing, and that the measures are already yielding results because, instead of 2,000 farmers who used incentives last year, this year we have 17,000 farmers registered. At the same time, the Ministry is preparing an autumn sowing program that will be significantly more efficient and better.
Dedić points out that about eight million KM have been paid today for about 3,000 farmers. Payments will continue in the coming days and producers can rest assured that they will have funds for spring sowing.
Last week, the ministry signed an agreement with the Development Bank and has launched a favorable line of credit for farmers.
At the request of the Ministry of Agriculture, the FBiH Civil Protection Service amended the restraining order for farmers to allow them to do their work unhindered.
As he said, farmers can expect support for all measures and activities already planned, as the budget that was adopted at the beginning of the year, will remain the same for the agriculture sector.
Dedić added that the investments in the dairy industry are such to ensure that FBiH citizens have enough dairy products even if the borders were closed completely.
