SARAJEVO, April 20 (FENA) - Health Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Rusmir Mesihović said today that significant success has been achieved in the fight against coronavirus and that we now have linear spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton.
“We have achieved significant success in the fight against coronavirus, the data say it all, and we have achieved this thanks to the involvement of healthcare professionals and crisis staffs. We continue to test more people,” Mesihović said at an online media conference.
He said their main focus now is on updating the patient's path, one path is in regular phase and time, and the other path is the patient in the coronavirus pandemic. Every day they make simulations, arrangements, observe and look for the best ways for the citizens of the Sarajevo Canton, that is, possible patients in order to have the best care and protection.
Also, staff simulations are made for the exponential phase of the coronavirus, in case it is necessary.
“Our focus is to make plans for an exponential phase and which healthcare facility would be the carrier of that phase, if this were to happen. We only make assumptions should this happen,” he explained.
He stressed that it is not planned to shut down any emergency center, in any option, emergency centers at both the Clinical Center and the General Hospital remain.
