SARAJEVO, April 28 (FENA) - The House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, at today's emergency session, after adopting an amendment to its Rules of Procedure, which provides for the possibility of holding online sessions in exceptional circumstances, also adopted the conclusion proposed by MP Nermin Nikšić (SDPBiH).
That conclusion expressed the commitment that the House should work in plenary session, respecting all protection and distance measures prescribed by the competent services.
MP Dragan Mektić (SDS) said that if deputies had been more responsible towards the people, to citizens, they would have convened much earlier, "whether in an emergency or any other session and discuss this crisis and its consequences".
"When it was most important for the people to react and to make decisions as the supreme state body, we hid ourselves in the holes like mice. We had to meet, we had to make decisions and at the cost that our health was in danger, to save the people. And we were the first to run away and disappear,” Mektic said.
He added that "this is a disgrace and a shame" and that they as politicians "have revealed their true nature to the people to the point that now the people can see them for what they really are."
"I am personally ashamed that we did not immediately meet in the midst of the pandemic, given that we have had all the conditions, to met here and talk about how to protect the lives and health of citizens, how to help the economy survive this. Citizens are left to themselves and have only false promises from the people like us," said Mektić.
He endorsed the proposal by MP Damir Arnaut (Our Party) for the MPs to waive some privileges, as well as to renounce their last salary in favor of those who need help in this crisis.
