BANJA LUKA, May 27 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić confirmed today that Kozara barracks in Banja Luka and the airport "Mahovljani" in Laktaši are in the process of registration as state buildings, which have been declared as prospective locations of the BiH Armed Forces.

“They have not been registered as state buildings as planned and certain legal procedures are underway,” Podžić told reporters in Banja Luka and added that there are political and technical problems with some locations.

He confirmed that there are no deadlines for this.

“The Reform Program, which was sent to Brussels, states that it is one of the continuous activities, which is also in the plan of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH,” said Podžić.

He also stated that a lot has been done regarding the realization of that program, but in the last months of the reform, the coronavirus pandemic has slowed down everything.

“We have 63 activities and the team of the Ministry of Defense, led by Mijo Krešić, Deputy Minister of Defense, is actively working these days. In seven days, a report will be submitted on what has been done and how to speed up certain activities,” said Podžić and added that certain things are being agreed with the NATO Headquarters, which again has stopped activities until fall.
