SARAJEVO, June 7 (FENA) - Members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH), after the need for quarantine has ceased, dismantled tent settlements and withdrew the rest of the resources from ten border crossings, where they were engaged in measures to combat coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).
The engagement of members of the AF BiH within the mission of civil-military cooperation, and in accordance with the Decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was previously agreed and coordinated by the competent institutions and crisis bodies.
"After the adoption of the Decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Minister of Defense of BiH approved the use of the resources of the AF BiH. Pursuant to reports from subordinate units, the AF BiH set up tents at ten border crossings, equipped them with sets of military beds, disinfected them (DDD measures) of the erected tent facilities and continued to provide and guard the set material and technical means," told FENA the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
Tent settlements set up and secured at the border crossings by members of the AF BiH were in the function of preventing the spread of coronavirus, i.e., providing accommodation (14-day quarantine/isolation) for the persons coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina from abroad.
In addition to members of the AF BiH, who were engaged in securing tent quarantines, sanitary inspectors, epidemiologists and medical staff, as well as members of the Civil Protection were all engaged at border crossings.
