SARAJEVO, June 10 (FENA) - Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gordana Tadić met with the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec, as well as the Mission officials in charge of the rule of law section, Michael Schuetz, Head of the Rule of Law and Legal Counselor Francesco De-Sanctis.
The central topics of the meeting were strengthening the rule of law and prosecuting war crimes, organized crime and corruption cases, the BiH Prosecutor's Office said.
The Chief Prosecutor briefed the representatives of the OSCE Mission to BiH on the current situation, and on the work and results achieved by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH during the Covid-19 pandemic, although the capacity was reduced due to compliance with recommendations of relevant institutions.
Also, during the pandemic, the Prosecutor's Office, in accordance with the instructions of the HJPC BiH, worked intensively on cases related to criminal offenses endangering the health and life of citizens, public procurement, as well as the work on detention cases and cases with tight deadlines.
The Chief Prosecutor informed the representatives of the OSCE Mission to BiH that due to the circumstances caused by coronavirus, work on war crimes cases and exhumation processes was difficult, because these activities require travel and field work throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Kavalec pointed out that the OSCE Mission to BiH will continue to support the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in overcoming the challenges it faces in its work, with the aim of strengthening the rule of law in the interest of all BiH citizens.
