BANJA LUKA, June 10 (FENA) - At the session of the Council of Peoples of the entity of Republika Srpska (RS), no agreement was reached today on the issue of protection of vital national interest on the revision of the RS budget for this year, initiated by the Bosniak caucus.

The veto of the Bosniak caucus will be a subject to harmonization at the Joint Committee of the Council of Peoples and the RS National Assembly.

Even before the coronavirus epidemic, the Bosniak caucus in the Council of Peoples of the RS vetoed the parliamentary conclusions on the adoption of the Information regarding the “anti-Dayton activities of the Constitutional Court of BiH.”

Today, the positions in the Council of Peoples have not been harmonized on that issue, as well as on the decrees adopted during the state of emergency in that BiH entity.

The Bosniak caucus also filed the motion for the protection of vital national interest and decisions on confirming the Decree on amendments to the Law on special expropriation procedure for the construction of the Corridor Vc motorway through the RS and the construction of the Banja Luka-Doboj motorway section.

They also vetoed the Decision on confirming the Decree on amendments to the Law on the special expropriation procedure for the construction of the motorway and gas pipeline on the section Vukosavlje - Brčko and Brčko - Rača.

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Peoples from the Bosniak people, Mihnet Okić, explained today for FENA that they vetoed it, because the budget revision reduced the items related to sustainable return, as well as grants for Bosniak charities and organizations of civilian victims of war.

Okić pointed out that the scrapping of funds for the payment of severance pay to unlawfully fired Bosniak workers at the beginning of the war on the territory of today’s entity of the RS, is utterly unacceptable.

He also said that the decisions on initiating the procedure of protection of vital national interest of the Bosniak people have been initiated because the mentioned decrees are trying to register the state property as the property of the entity of RS.
