FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, June 10 (FENA) - Deputy Director for Cooperation of the Swiss Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina Patrick Egli and head of the migration program Azra Šarenkapa visited the Service for Foreigners' Affairs today and met with Director Slobodan Ujić.

The representatives of the Embassy of Switzerland handed over a valuable donation to the Service for Foreigners' Affairs in the form of a biometric scanner for fingerprints with an accompanying license, stated the institution.

Director Ujić especially thanked the Government of Switzerland for the assistance provided to the Foreigners’ Affairs Service and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole and pointed out that the donation will further improve the work of the Service in conditions of increased influx of migrants when we face a lack of material and technical and human resources.

At the moment, there are about 6,000 migrants in temporary reception centers in BiH, and with the easing of COVID-19 prevention measures, the number of migrants arriving to BiH has already increased.

This was a farewell visit of Mr. Egli and Ujić once again thanked him for the successful cooperation and wished him success in his future endeavors.

The interlocutors expressed confidence that the cooperation between the Service for Foreigners' Affairs and the Swiss Embassy would remain at a high level.
