SARAJEVO, June 17 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly (BiHPA) Denis Zvizdić received today UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Ingrid Macdonald in an inaugural visit and briefed her on the current political situation in BiH.
During the talks, Zvizdić said that Bosnia and Herzegovina supports the efforts of the United Nations in order to advance the highest goals of the organization, which contributes to strengthening the role of the UN in the world.
He stressed that BiH recognizes the importance and role of the UN at the global level in order to find the most effective and concrete answers to the challenges and problems facing the modern world, and expressed the expectation that Bosnia and Herzegovina will have better representation in the United Nations system.
Zvizdić said that BiH is monitoring the activities undertaken in order to maintain peace and security, and the promotion and protection of human rights, poverty reduction, as well as the implementation of the 2030 agenda.
He stressed that the implementation of the 2030 agenda has full support of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiHPA, Denis Zvizdić, wished the UN Resident Coordinator in BiH, Ingrid Macdonald, success in her term in office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Press Service of the BiH PA announced.
