SARAJEVO, June 25 (FENA) - Nordine Mebarki, a French citizen of Algerian origin who has lived in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2004, received the French Academic Palm.
Declaring him the Knight of the French Order, French Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Guillaume Rousson, presented the Academic Palm to Nordine Mebarki last night at a reception held on that occasion at the French residence in Sarajevo.
According to Ambassador Rousson, this recognition is given by the French Government to individuals for outstanding results achieved in the education sector.
Ambassador Rousson emphasized that this is in a way the crown of the exceptional professional activities of Nordine Mebarki, the chief education advisor at the International French School in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was also decided that he would soon be appointed as the principal of that educational institution.
In the 15 years that Mebarki has been active in BiH, many children have attended this school, so the French ambassador is proud that a French citizen could have had such a direct impact on young Bosnians.
“The great news is that we have such great people who contribute to the relations between the two countries,” said Ambassador Rousson.
Nordine Mebarki stated that receiving the Academic Palm is an exceptional honor for him.
He added that his family, friends, people from his environment - professors, principals, students contributed to receiving this award.
One of Mebarki’s many contributions is the development of the French School, one of the most recognized international school in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The past 15 years of his exemplary professional career mean a lesson in engaging for the benefit of young people, it was emphasized during the reception in Sarajevo.
The reception in Mebarki's honor was held in compliance with security epidemiological measures, in the presence of a limited number of guests, due to the COVID 19 epidemic.
