Minister Turković receives Swiss Ambassador in a farewell visit

SARAJEVO, June 26 (FENA) - Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turković received today Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Bosnia and Herzegovina Andrea Rauber Saxer in a farewell visit.

Turković expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland, to which Ambassador Rauber Saxer also contributed during her term of office.

She expressed gratitude to the Government of Switzerland as one of the largest donors to BiH over the past 20 years, for its contribution to improving political stability and security, economic development and functioning of democratic structures and processes. During the meeting, Minister Turković also informed Ambassador Rauber Saxer about the current situation in BiH, with special emphasis on the process of European integration of BiH.

Ambassador Rauber Saxer thanked Minister Turković for the good cooperation, emphasizing that Switzerland remains committed to friendly relations and cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina. She stressed that Switzerland strongly supports the efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina in fulfilling its obligations on the path to membership in the European Union, and will continue to support the reform processes in our country.

She expressed satisfaction with her stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during which, as she said, she had the opportunity to meet our country and wonderful people. She also briefed on Switzerland's candidacies for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council and for the Universal Postal Union, expressing hope for Bosnia and Herzegovina's support.

The Ambassador presented Minister Turković with the text of the joint initiative of Switzerland and Great Britain entitled: "Remittances in Crisis: How to keep them flowing: A Call to Action", expressing the wish that BiH join this joint initiative.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Turković thanked Ambassador Rauber Saxer for her overall engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and wished her success in her future work, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
