SARAJEVO, July 12 (FENA) - Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka and Deputy Mayor Ivica Šarić met in Dubrovnik with Zoran Milanović, President of the Republic of Croatia, to whom they presented the Flower of Srebrenica.
The flower, which emerged from pain, is a symbol of the fight against genocide and the mass suffering of people. Its 11 white petals symbolize July 11, a day that has forever gone down in history as the day of the worst crime in Europe since World War II.
This symbolic gift is also a reminder of Vukovar, which suffered a cruel fate.
In 2012, Zoran Milanović attended the commemoration in Srebrenica, where he paid tribute to all victims of genocide and pointed out that he hoped that there would be an opportunity for him to come again because Srebrenica is a painful wound and a test of humanity.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, the Republic of Croatia, on the eve of July 11, at the fountains in the Hrvatske bratske zajednice street in Zagreb, presented a light projection of the "Memory" flower.
