PRIJEDOR, July 20 (FENA) - President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović said today in Prijedor that the memory of every murdered man and innocent victim must be preserved, especially if the victims were killed in mass crimes.

„This is one such municipality,” Izetbegović said in a statement to the press in Prijedor, after the funeral for the six Kozarac victims, who were killed in 1992.

He reminded that the bodies of killed citizens of Prijedor were found in other countries, including Serbia, and that he supported the review of the genocide verdict on the lawsuit of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Serbia, but an embargo was placed on that.

“The review that I supported, which unfortunately failed, the embargo on which the embargo was placed, as well as the embargo on justice, took new elements into account. I hope that sooner or later there will be more justice. I hope that there will be an audit that will establish what is clear,” said the SDA head.

After Srebrenica, he says, Prijedor suffered the worst.

He said that it was unacceptable for defenders and aggressors to be equated, and for genocide to be denied and relativized.

As long as we are alive, he says, and as long as this country lives, the perpetrators of crimes must be prosecuted.

He added that a strong state is needed, which guarantees equality to the people, and is able to defend its innocent inhabitants.

“Such a state is within strong organizations, which has strong Armed Forces, security agencies, which defends citizens without asking them what their names are and what god they pray to,” said Izetbegović.

He pointed out that the genocide culminated and ended in Srebrenica, but that it began first in the Bosnian Krajina, in Biljani near Sanski Most, and in the valley of the Sana River.

He says the Serb people should be concerned.

“The Serb people should be concerned that there are so many people ready to kill their neighbors in cold blood and so many people who are ready to deny and relativize the genocide,” he said.

A funeral service was held today at the Kamičani Memorial Center in Kozarac and the burial of six martyrs from Prijedor, who were killed in 1992, was held.

Five victims were exhumed at the Korićanske stijene site, while Enes Denić's body was found at the Jablanica-Prosara site, near Bosanska Gradiška.

The killed Bosniaks were thrown into individual, joint and mass graves. So far, the remains of the killed Prijedor citizens have been found at 499 locations, in 73 mass graves, primary and secondary, in the area of 10 municipalities and three different countries.
