Mitrović and Sattler on putting into operation the Sava River Bridge near Svilaj

SARAJEVO, July 22 (FENA) - Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vojin Mitrović attended today in Vojkovići, East Sarajevo the opening ceremony of the State Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention and Other Measures.

At the opening ceremony, Minister Mitrović and the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler, used the opportunity to discuss the issue of putting the completed bridge over the Sava River near Svilaj into operation, which is in the interest of Bosnian and Croatian sides and the European Union.

The Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, headed by Minister Mitrović, will make every effort to open a temporary border crossing for passengers and vehicles by September 2020 in order to avoid additional costs for the protection, guarding and maintenance of the bridge itself and prevention of illegal border crossing.

At the same time, passenger transport would take place over the newly built bridge until the completion of the border crossing, which is scheduled to open in early 2021, stated the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
