SARAJEVO, August 14 (FENA) - In March this year, the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed a Decision on a policy of zero tolerance for acts of sexual harassment and gender-based harassment and a Decision on the appointment of a counselor for the prevention of sexual and gender-based harassment in the workplace.
Sexual harassment and gender-based harassment is any unwanted, verbal, non-verbal or inappropriate physical behavior towards another person, which is sexual in nature or based on gender, i.e., which is intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive, or which produces such effect.
The mentioned documents were prepared by the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH of the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, and adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH.
The Council of Ministers of BiH instructed the ministries and independent administrative organizations at the level of the BiH institutions to make decisions on zero tolerance and the appointment of counselors for the prevention of gender-based harassment and sexual harassment in the workplace by the end of 2020 at the latest.
In addition to the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, this obligation has been fulfilled by the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport, the BiH Civil Service Agency, the Public Administration Reform Coordinator's Office, and the Agency for preschool, primary and secondary education, the Commission for the Preservation of National Monuments of BiH and the Center for the Verification of Diplomas in the Field of Higher Education of BiH, stated the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH.
