SARAJEVO, August 18 (FENA) - EUFOR has been planning a "Quick Response 2020" exercise in Bosnia and Herzegovina for several months now, in which 20 countries will participate under the single command of EUFOR, including the Multinational Battalion, EUFOR confirmed in a statement for FENA.
Participating countries, they add, include Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania and the United Kingdom.
The "Quick Response 2020" exercise will be held throughout BiH from 31 August to 5 September, with the aim of providing the BiH Armed Forces and EUFOR troops with joint training in peace support operations, as well as to test the EUFOR's ability to bring reserve forces to the country which are there to assist the BiH authorities in maintaining a safe and stable environment.
This exercise is held every year and is part of the regular training calendar of the BiH Armed Forces and EUFOR.
However, since this year's exercise takes place during the coronavirus pandemic, EUFOR noted that the participating countries fully respect international protection measures for Covid-19, as well as measures issued by BiH and EUFOR.
"No soldier will be allowed to enter BiH if all the criteria for isolation and testing are not fully met," stated the EUFOR officials.
