SARAJEVO, August 27 (FENA) - BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik believes that several good steps have been taken at today's session of the BiH Presidency to help resolve the migrant crisis, such as strengthening institutions and protecting the state border, as well as signing readmission agreements for countries from which migrants are coming.

He assessed that the efforts of the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, to create joint teams, are a good measure in terms of reducing the number of migrants.

He welcomed better cooperation between the BiH Border Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, and it is noticed that a smaller number of migrants entered BiH. The BiH Council of Ministers was asked to increase the capacity of the Border Police and allocate five million KM from the budget reserve for migrant crisis management.

He underlined that it is necessary to ban the entry of migrants into populated areas and that it is necessary to build accommodation facilities and reception centers in which migrants will be accommodated.

“I will not agree that the non-combatant segment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is engaged on the border with Serbia, this is not a solution but a harmonized work of all institutions,” said Dodik.

However, Dodik announced activating a mechanism of vital national interest on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Election Commission of BiH and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) because it is a foreign organization that should monitor the election process.

He claims that there is a danger that they are dealing with voter lists in BiH and many other things, and he refused to support that memorandum, believing that it is interference in the election process.

It was supported to provide education to young people who are voting for the first time through a donation to the Central Election Commission.

Therefore, he will ask all parliamentary parties in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska to declare on this issue, and if the majority is in favor, they will activate the issue of vital national interest within 72 hours, as planned.
