SARAJEVO, August 27 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović said today, commenting on the upcoming elections in Montenegro, that he supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of that country, and elections in that country are held within that sovereignty and the decision will be made by the citizens of Montenegro.

He underlined that he respects and appreciates the Montenegrin European and NATO path, as well as the path of stabilization of interethnic relations in Montenegro, which is important for that country, but also for the entire region, and all that was done under the leadership of Montenegrin President Mile Đukanović.

“I wish for it to continue on this path and I believe that it will in the future because there is no other way,” says Džaferović.

Since the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, reacting to Džaferović's statement that he should show with his deeds, and not just declaratively that he respects the sovereignty of BiH, said that “no one will be allowed to condition Serbia” and that “Serbia will not be anyone's servant”, Džaferović said that there was no reason to give any comment because he hasn’t actually heard anything new from Vučić.

“I heard a general statement from him that the Dayton Peace Agreement should be respected, that Serbia will not be anyone's servant, but I did not receive answers to the specific questions I had asked. He provided no such answers,” he added.

He reiterated that it is nice that Vučić says that he respects the Dayton Peace Agreement, but it would be much nicer if his deeds corresponded with his statements.

Džaferović therefore asked Vučić once again whether it was in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement, which Vučić says he respects, that Serbia should include the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska in its defense security policy strategy.

“Of course it is not, because it goes against the Dayton Peace Agreement. I am waiting for answers to those questions. I would add that we ask no one to be our servant nor will we ever be anyone's servant again. Everyone has their own country and they should govern it, and everyone in the region should respect that principle,” concluded the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović.
