Lučić: Families of missing have the right to know truth about their loved ones

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 30 (FENA) - The International Day of the Disappeared, which is marked on August 30, is a day when we remember all persons who are considered missing, regardless of whether they disappeared during the war, were victims of crimes or violence or disappeared for some other reason.

According to the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, Miloš Lučić, this is an opportunity to remind the public how valuable any information about a missing person is and how it can be helpful to the families of the missing. The families of the missing have the right to know the truth about the fate of their loved ones, and every society has a legal and moral obligation to help them in their search.

So far, more than 23,000 of the 30,000 missing in the war have been identified in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 7,000 are still listed as missing.

The Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees supports all activities that lead to solving the problem of missing persons in BiH, because families of the missing deserve to know the truth, and the victims to find peace, the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH announced.
