SARAJEVO, September 2 (FENA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina thanked all BiH citizens abroad who exercised their democratic right and registered to vote in the local elections, which will be held on November 15, 2020.
The record number of applicants, which according to the latest information amounts to over 100,000 received unprocessed applications, shows the growing responsibility of BiH citizens towards their homeland, but also their desire to create the future of local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina through their participation in democratic processes, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
This year, for the first time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs formed a Team to support the implementation of Local Elections, which has been at the service of BiH citizens on a daily basis for the past month, with the aim of better information and in case of troubles with registration.
“The number of citizens registered to vote by mail and in DCMs is a significant step forward in the development of awareness of BiH citizens about participation in elections, but also in the maturing of relations with the homeland. The activities of the MFA through meetings in embassies and consulates, where BiH citizens presented their problems and suggestions, is a way to continue to build relations with our citizens abroad in the future. I sincerely hope that our efforts will not be in vain, and that BiH citizens who registered, when the time comes, will exercise their right to vote,” said Bisera Turković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
