SARAJEVO, September 3 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative in BiH Johann Sattler and Mayor of the Centar Municipality Sarajevo Nedžad Ajnadžić opened today the "Sarajevo Center of Excellence in Entrepreneurship" in Avde Jabučice Street.
The center was established thanks to the support of the European Union through the "EU4Business" project, and will provide long-term support to young entrepreneurs in starting new businesses and creating jobs.
EU Ambassador Sattler said that he is pleased to attend the opening of the Center, and reminded that the EU had provided a support package of 300 million euros, much of which was intended for the economy.
“I am glad that we have strong partners in this project, such as Mayor Ajnadžić, the International Labor Organization, and the German Embassy, which financially supports "EU4Business",” Sattler added.
Ajnadžić said that he is glad to provide support for good business ideas of young people, especially in IT sector.
German Ambassador to BiH Margret Uebber also attended the opening today and said that her country, which currently holds the presidency of the European Union, set the main task of overcoming the crisis caused by the pandemic, in which special attention should be paid to innovative small and medium enterprises.
The "EU4Business" project encourages the development of entrepreneurship, export-oriented sectors, tourism and agriculture, as well as rural development in BiH. The total value of the project is EUR 16.1 million. The EU4Business project is jointly funded by the European Union (EUR 15 million) and the Federal Republic of Germany (EUR 1.1 million).
